This post is based on a firm belief that Madara will make an obvious return after Kaguya's backstory,fight & Tnj have come to a near(or)mid-end.
Now before i propose this ''Self realization'' theory,lets loop back to when madara ''realized'' something.
Madara,after eavesdropping on the hashirama & tobirama's little talk went and read the stone monument written by the ''Sage of 6 paths''.But as we know now.
It was re-written by the Legendary swindler BlackZetsu meaning what madara thought he realized his ''True dream'' from the SAGE's teachings was false,it was all a huge misguidance from Bz.Lets make this point no.1
Next we have the jutsu hashirama gave sasuke.
Talking about a restraining jutsu followed with a mention of uchiha izuna and madara's kindness gives doubts that when its used on madara,he will get emotions but positive one's that is.If it was an actual aggresive justu sasuke would've used it by now,wouldn't he?Lets make this point no.2
What was madara's ''True dream'' again?If said simply ''To become the Saviour of this world and free Humanity from the Harsh reality by putting them in an illusion of happiness'' and for that,the I.T
After they've lived their life in the illusion,their original bodies will become nothing but corpses later on and humanity will end..
No more hapiniess from a child,born
No more sadness from a parent,lost
It was the end of Everything.
But then again,HOLY MOTHER OF PLOT TWISTS!!
Families that were living a few days ago would become slave & soldiers of kaguya.This was not what Madara wanted.Lets make this point no.3
Taking the three points together,after Madara makes his comeback a little later,confirms these facts and gets hit by sasu-hashi justu would undergo Brief moments of self realization on what excatly was he striving for in his life so far as he was the one who got decieved into making BlackZetsu's plan come true.Then,though not on the hero's side,tries to stop I.T
