Hashirama had his strongest attack taken down because Kurama was being controlled which is a feat Kurama himself never bested after that, it's actually a fact in the Manga. When the Danzo fight saved team 7 from Sasuke it was reveled more or less that he wanted to controll the Kyuubi as well by Obito
