Sorry if this has been made already someone might have beat me to the punch.

But anyways I read the chapter twice today. The first time I saw it but kinda of ignored it. Read it the second time and was like WTF.

If my theory is right it only adds to my fury with the Uchihas sharingans abilities.
Anyways here goes..I think Madara put hashi under a genjutsu here.

Bottom left panel. We usually see this when a Uchiha activates a genjutsu.

Now we have seen this countless times in the manga when an opponent falls for a sharingan genjutsu. I could be wrong but it all makes sense.

No one was there to witness the fight. So if hashi was really under genjutsu he believed that Madara was killed. But instead Madara lived and in turn stole some of hashis cells. It would explain why Madara never spoke of a fatal injury after his battle.

But let me know if any of you caught this. I might be over thinking it.
