Lowkey I think there was something because he kind of had an obsession with Uzumaki. Even the tone he mentions Mito's name in kinda sounds like he venerated her.


Also, Sasuke has a thing for girls with Uzumaki feats, if we go by incarnates sharing similar personalities then Madara would've fallen in love with Mito.



It also parallels Naruto and Sasuke rivalry over Sakura in pt1
