I got drunk last night and thought of you

I poured another shot
Thinking that this one, would make it stop
I'm caught; lost in this cynical, unethical train of thought
brought on by my own constant worries and distraught

So I tip back the bottle
Hoping I can find the mettle to erase this battle...
These memories, for some reason they still cling to me
Like a parasite feeding off my light
Only bringing darkness and aiming to depress

The bottle is empty, nothing but a void
So smart of you, so very coy
Knowing you need not lift a finger, knowing that you constantly linger; withing my mind

I'll remember you....
