It's kind of ironic that Obito is saying that, when he himself, went crazy over the death of another piece of fodder, in Rin.

Hate - hate is a strong word.
OT: To Obito, someone like Neji would be a fodder considering the fact that Obito is probably the only ninja (other than possibly Nagato & Naruto) that can compete with Hashirama and Madara and possibly defeat them.

You do not know what the word fodder is; please look up what fodder is in Urban Dictionary.

Also, this is Obito talking, not Kishimoto. An author is skilled if he's able to put aside his personality and add in separate ones that work with the individual character. This is Obito trying to demoralize Naruto and the Shinobi Alliance.

obito didnt use fodder in an urban way he used it in its second original form
and kishi was basically saying that he didnt see neji as someone who could be developed

Hyuga can only be so strong, i think neji learned all he had to learn, air palm being his new technique seen in shippuden. Neji was a great character in the beginning but her purpose was served and so he left the building, shame TenTen lost her neji tho

It was special how Kishimoto portrayed Neji's death. Neji proved that the Branch Family members have just as much importance as a shinobi as the Main Family does. Neji's death shows him with a smile on his face declaring that he was finally free from his cursed seal. The newest manga cover shows Neji wrapped in a bird-shaped Kyubi cloak, symbolizing freedom.

im saying that neji hasnt been seen throughout the whole series but the one time he actually appears he dies

Neji had great value as a shinobi, even being the leader of the Hyuga forces. This is Obito that is saying this, however. Of course if a tremendously-powerful villain is going to strike down someone lower than them in level, they are going to pronounce how weak they were to them. But Neji weak as a whole? In the whole of the Narutoverse? No way.

Some characters don't need to be developed any longer, because to what progression would that lead the series if someone who desires freedom does not achieve it? Neji fulfilled his dream of proving his worth as a Branch Family member and showed everyone that even Branch Family members can be great people. By dying, Neji is probably paving the way for removal of the practice of binding Branch Family members with the cursed seal.

Because Kishi doesn't like neji!

He's been trying to kill him off since the "sasuke retrieval" arc. Probably got rushed so much, that he could never find the right time.

Here comes war, everyone's on the frontlines, random arrow comes towards (i forgot"), and neji decides to catch it. Quickest way possible, to kill him off. Kish was serious that time...

poor neji.

Lol! Kishi has to think through Obito's character and if Obito doesnt even let himself fret against BM naruto then he considers a LOT of people in Narutoverse FODDERS

I will admit that it was a shame for a genius member of the Hyuga clan to be gone in the thick of battle, because there is a very good likelihood that the Hyuga clan is ohhhh-so-very-essential for various constructs of the SO6P. I'm as suspicious as ever, I know Lol

i understand nejis death had a lot of purpose and meaning but it was the way he died that really made me upset
its like kishi didnt care about him as character

Neji is an awesome and strong character, but before Obito and the juubi, he is fodder.

you probably read a different translation of it
Probably. :) But well on the other side it's IC for Obito. He seems to consider everyone as inferior to him. Even when facing BM Naruto, he thought he wasn't a worthy opponent for him, too much that he even wondered how he could sweat while fighting such an opponent. If he doesn't see even BM Naruto as a worthy opponent, it's kind of normal he would consider someone as Neji as a fodder
