In terms of characters and art this is more like a manga continuation of Naruto's pilot story. From the focus on character to the gangs to the swearing kids to the futuristic, gritty world. Naruto has come full circle.

And yeah, I finally read the manga. It's nothing huge but it's got some great things in it. Love Sarada and Boruto's relationship and the clear character development that's happened. Ikemoto is also oddly better at directing action choreography than Kishimoto was in the later years. Underappreciated but credit should go where it's due.

Both have their own major flaws. The anime focuses way too much on the one friendship group of boys, depriving the class of MC or SC status....whilst the manga's art is still quite lacklustre & has the obvious Sarada objectification. In short:- The 2 Boruto series are so small that it's pathetic to argue over them.
You're a fool if you're not reading the manga and enjoying the anime in tandem. I know NB likes to pick sides & argue pointlessly but these is actual media, not some character wankwar. Only person missing by not enjoying both is you.
