KAbuto never took Kisame's Dna and and he had already edoes the rest of the akatsuki before Kisame's death .
After that Kisame commited suicide which is why Kabuto was not able to get his dna to edo him .

In a way ur friend is right but it is not like he couldn't find.it is just he never tried to get Kisame's DNA.

End of the day: Kisame is dead & Kabuto did not summoned him with EDO tensei because he don't have Kisame's DNA & he don't have Kisame's DNA because he never tried to collect it & He never tried to collect it because he ain't got time to do so.
