I am here in India, pursuing engineering.I am in first year and college started just 3 months back(yes I am a hosteler).Me and my friend want to organize a gaming competition here in hostel(and are planning to organise even more in future with games like counter strike and most wanted) and we r unable to decide the game for the event. He says we should start our venture with simple 'pocket tanks' and I wanna go with vice city giving each competitor 30 mins to gather money(starting from new game).can u guys give us some advice.Maybe different games(but very popular ones) or new things to add. Each participant will give 5 bucks for participation and all the money would be given to the winners(no profit to us) but in future we would like to make profit from titles like most wanted s0o we want an awesome start. And there are not many high end laptops here so we cannot go for high end games.ANY ADVICE WOULD BE HELPFUL.

thanks for bearing my english.

League of Legends is pretty cool to do. They even give prizes for events hosted for players/teams!

Don't try a game that nobody plays. Vice city is a big NO in a competition and so is pocket tanks (kids seriously?)

CS 1.6 is your best bet and it works on the laptops with the shitiest configuration. You will only need a wireless router and you are good to go. Decide on teams of 5. Take around 50 bucks from each team and anounce the prizes depending on the entries you have. Also suggest you reel in sponsors if you wanted to make it grand.
