I need help with creating a website

i have no idea where to start, but the problem is I don't know what the meaning of register a website mean.

Why do I need to register a website before I could host it?

What will going to happen if I don't register it?

Or does it mean I have to come up with my own unique website name?

I need such more help from you all...

I can't answer those questions but there are some people on youtube that build websites in exchange for something or google search free website builders! Hope this helps
