Hidan filled a comedy role, but he is dead.

but really, i like the naruto series but the comedy factor, that was so awesome in part 1,
is kinda fading in part 2.

It's a time of war, and the manga is drawing to a close so the exclusion of comedy kind of makes sense in that way. But I agree it was definitely more apparent in part 1.

I do miss Jiraiya very much he is, and will always be one of my favorite characters. I wish he got to do more. Rest in peace J-man.

Well sometimes there can still be room for humor during war, like bee noticing the stake being near yugito nii her breasts (when she was part of the six paths of obito) or obito asking if he has to take care of madara his lower parts and such.
But yeah, it aint weird that the funny factor drops a notch during a war saga.
