I love comparing early Naruto to Naruto now.

This is sort of cheesy, but I just think it's really cool looking back over a decade and seeing Naruto's character still being a brat who's a worthless ninja. Then you compare it to today, and you finally get all the pay off and development for him.

Just sort of makes me happy, even if that sounds stupid. It struck me when reading Chapter 1 again today.

I totally agree with this. Going back and reading the series over again or watching the show over again is very nostalgic.

I think you could apply this to everything, which is quite nice

For example, looking back at myself when I was younger, I too was something of a brat. But then compared to who I am today and it's like, at least I had a dad back then.

I like comparing it too, but for the animation purposes. I liked the animation at the beginning and first parts of Shippuden, now the animation is kinda bland
