I dont see why people are hating on it, Im usually the hater but for once there wasnt anything silly or any immature and implausible ass pull revelations, there was some genuine believable story going on that was totally pertinent to what was going on in the regular story, it has meaning as far as the relationship between Gai and Lee, and its one of the few moments during this war that Ive cared what was going to happen, not just to see another technique thrown out there, but to see some character development.
I mean up to this point Gai's been a kind of shallow character and the backstory kind of lets us know theres a reason for the way he acts, hes not dumb, theres a philosophy behind it. I liked it. I hope we get a little more out of this before its back to throwing crap at Sage Madara.
This chapter was old school Kishi. I want more! Im sick of Madara and 10 tails and 6 paths and this ninja war with a different childish cliche at the end of every issue! Its boring the %$@& out of me
