It can mean both strawberry ( reference to his red hair ) or one-five which is commonly accepted as he had the number 15 on his room door and was 15 when the series started.

thisisnotjapanese on tumblr has a blog and someone sent them a question asking what Americans sound like when they try to speak Japanese, like what American accents sound like. Their answer is that Americans keep putting the emphasis on the wrong syllable and said that it's ... odd. A trick to fixing that is to put it on the first syllable.

Yes, now after I read that on their blog, whenever I hear a Japanese word or name in the English dub I cringe (especially when some of the stressed syllables have sounds that are normally silent). sa-SU-kay, sa-KU-ra, kuh-KA-shi, hi-ro-SHI-ma. Listen to it in Japanese and the syllables are even.

Sometimes in the English dub they do pronounce it closer to the Japanese but that doesn't seem to make it better. It just makes it look inconsistent, like they can't even reach a consensus on how everyone should be saying it.
