I also kind of thought this. A lot of people would bring up Madara having Senju DNA, but he fought Hashi through that whole insane battle to get it, so I think in a way it is earned. He had a goal and he was gonna achieve it.

doesnt mean he needed hashi cells if he had develop as fast as hashi he would've had the rinnegan, the battle would've had a different winner if he had what he had now
