i just remembered naruto has a thing about destroying masks!

and i think it might also be a foreshadowing of what will happen when naruto and co see the masked dudes face let me explain.

Remeber in part1 the zabuza and haku arc? this is how hakus mask was destroyed someone i can't remember who threw a kunai and it scratched haku's mask then soon after naruto thought haku killed sasuke and naruto went beserk he destroyed his mask i think with a punch infused with nine tails chakra which sent haku flying and when haku's mask came off naruto was shocked cause he remembered talking to a young woman after zabuza faked his death not realising that it was haku who was actually a boy.

And now here we are in shippuden during the 4th war and lightning infused kunai launched at tobi using kamui put a scratch in tobi's mask and in the latest chapter 598 naruto in bijuu modes mashed it to pieces just as he asked the masked man WHO ARE YOU? and you know what it wouldn't suprise me if he turns out to be someone who kakashi and guy or naruto knows.

Repetition of images/actions is common in stories. There's a literary term for it, but it's slipping my mind. I wouldn't say Naruto has "a thing for breaking masks".

but we knew te viewer knew who haku was when he/she unmasked him/herself after he hit zabuza's neck to make him seem dead.... we the viewer haven't seen tobi's face
