Jiraiya and Orochimaru's last names haven't even been mentioned ONCE in the entire series?

Is there somekind of secret behind them?
Or did Kishi just screw up again?

Jiraiya is a maybe, although I don't think we'll get anything from that. I just don't think he wanted to give the sannin last names or complicated backstories. He connected Tsunade to the first Hokage, and that's about it. No idea who her parents are or anything beyond that, really.

And names, equal power.

Hanzō, Nagato, Konan, Yahiko, the entire Sound 4, Mū, Onoki, Gaara, Temari, Kankuro, Chiyo, Deidara, Sasori, etc. don't have last names either.
