i just realised what made sasuke freeze when he went to stab madara...

It was madara's limbo clone holding him there. So basically without the sages power-up the same thing could of happened to naruto. Anyone without the sage's power would get fodderised instantly.

Though I'm pretty sure that the reason why sasuke barely attempted to resist/attack is either out of fear or PNJ

Now Imagine that Limbo clone riding a Perfect Susano and summoning Invincible Meteoroids. This is why Madara was trolled. And he hasn't even used his Shinra Tensei and other rinnegan abilities Pein did. Even after their power ups Madara with both Rinnegans was still >> Naruto + Sasuke. Just when he got both of his eyes back it was over for all of them. In a way, indirectly African-American Zetsu saved them by converting Madara to a powerful, but stupid tool.

Well this could be true... but again this would be Limbo clone taking it off and throwing forward. Same with Bijuu it could be rather Limbo getting in center between them and unleashing Shinra tensei.

However there is good chance it would be really telekinessis. Although Sasuke's freezing would be explained as Madara using limbo which using Sussano's hand grabbed and immobilized Sasuke in air.
