I have "transcended" from manga to comics. Now, I know, I know people complain that they are:

-Old
-Wasted up
-Etc.(And yes believe it or not people do say stuff like that)​

But I don't know... it's like gold to me. The comic book world or universe is like how some people see One Piece and Oda. It's not only that, but everything else that goes with it (which should be expected for years long of work... I guess)

Jesus, nothing compares in any thing ever I think if we are talking characters, development, feels, warmth, etc.

Especially from these iconic select characters: Joker, Batman, Spiderman, Superman, Robin (Jason, ****, and Damian), Omg Batgirl, etc.

I think that's mostly what we mostly care about anyways.

Cartoons, movies etc. are never canon to the universe and are always bad anyway. Comics are ridiculously complex with countless universes, with a big hunk of them also not canon and at times very, very stupid.

Even the canon material is heavily inconsistent. To boot, most characters are one-dimensional and never make gravitational changes in character.


Manga and comics are directly comparable because how they work and how they deliver are totally different.

I don't have any issues with a black female iron man....except the name. Why are we still calling her Iron Man? She a woman. Why not Iron Woman or Iron Maiden? Would that be concidered sexist

Really? I for one enjoyed "The Killing Joke Plus A 30 Minute Batgirl Movie That Honestly Could've Been It's Own Thing And Should Not Have Been Put Together As One Film"

In all honesty, it's not the race that's the issue. It's the character change is all. If creators changed any aspect of a character, they'd get mad. And one good example of that is DC's New 52 reboot. Superman? He got massive hate on him. He was still a physically white lead, but people still didn't like him. Instead of the always caring, prefer to talk than fight, and grounded boy scout, the creators gave an "edgy" Superman who was headstrong and went into battles more recklessly than intelligently. You know what else was a simple change that people didn't like, the fact that they removed Lois Lane as his love interest and made it Wonder Woman and Superman.

Nobody cares about the race changes, they care that the heroes they know are being replaced like it's nothing. Fans don't like it when they're hero's position is just taken away. Marvel is getting hate right now because they're literally removing all their heroes without any real easy transition.

New Hulk, New Thor, New Iron Man, New Wolverine, New Avengers Teams in general, and New radical changes. Even if they used the exact same characters and rebooted it but just changed their personalities, people would get angry.

That's why a few months back, DC Rebirth began with the goal of bringing back the character personalities and feelings that fans were already used to. It brought back the same feeling people had before.



This isn't a race thing. This is a change thing. Nobody like change, simple as that. Familiarity is an incredibly powerful impact on what someone likes. Chances are if you've heard a version of a song one way, and heard a cover next, you're more likely to enjoy the first version you heard more just because you heard it first.


If Marvel and DC created new characters of minority backgrounds, nobody would get angry because it's new content that they can grow and become familiar with. It won't be tainted by the memories of a previously established character.

It's like idk when you know someone is watching you. That's kind of why Cybrog is in JL rn (yes he plays a big role but Man hunter is more loved and was also black..kind of)
