I have an idea how Dan died!

By analising his ghost release jutsu, I think I found the weakness of his jutsu and which might actualy been the reason he died.
During the time of his death,there was a war going on (second great ninja war),correct me if i'm wrong.He released his jutsu and in his spirit form went around hunting his enemies,while his body was vulnerable other shinobi from another village found and killed him while he was also killing others in his spirit form.After that he returned and found out his body was wounded,he immediately
contacted Tsunade told her the situation,she rushed to where he is and started healing him but,it was too late,he had lost lot of blood.He told Tsunade his last words released the jutsu and died as seen in the anime when Tsunade was healing him and had blood all over her hands.

Also why isn't Dan mentioned as one of the badass Shinobies in Naruto? he was obviously extremely good/lethal. almost like Pain except the power, both could not be harmed if you didn't know their secret.

He probably got hunted down if his enemies found out about his OP Jutsu. Just like the jutsu that was a massive explosion.
