Now, before I ask you this, let me make something clear. There is no ulterior motive behind this thread, I am not insulting anyone nor am I trying to put anybody in an uncomfortable position. This is strictly for educational purposes and to feed my curiosity.

Why are women oppressed not given equal rights within your religion?
In other words, what led your people to believe that men are superior to women?
I hear it all the time, women are treated as commodities, sold off to some 50 or 60 year old guy before they've even reached puberty. Forced to bear his children.
Barred from educating themselves, condemned if they seek it.
Not allowed to speak out, forever cloaked in their veils.
Why such oppression?
Men are born from women. They spend 9 months inside a woman's belly. Women are practically our Gods.
In case you're wondering, I am a man.
I've noticed there's a quite a few Muslims on here. I just wanted to know straight from you.
