I have a real problem. Obito and madara having a connection means Madara was alive atleast 17 years ago aroung the time of obito's death. However when he returns to life he is not nearly old enough. We are talking about a guy who would have had to be atleast 70 if not older during obito's death. Also this kind of blows the whole nagato had madara's eyes. Why would madara give his eyes to nagato so he can continue living for another 15 to 20 years. Obito is atleast 10 years younger than nagato. What is the meaning of this. I have a feeling the answer will leave more questions than answers.

; it doesn't make sense. They only thing i'd say about it now is that the 'short period of time' Madara was referring to ended up being ~15+ years. Madara had a youthful appearance with the Rinnegan when he was revived by Edo Tensei because Kabuto completed him beyond his prime.

Actually I thought tobi was obito. I just am saying tobi knowing madara makes no sense and makes nagato having madara's eyes an impossible theory.

Minato is atleast ten years older than kakashi and obito, which means nagato is abotu the same age or maybe older. Nagato was ten or younger when he got the rinnigan(jiraiya said he mastered every jutsu he taught him by the time he was ten.) which means that nagato got the rinnigan most likely before obito was born. If those were madara's eyes he would have been blind when he met obito. Which does not makes sense considering he gave away his eyes and yet he planned to continue living.

Obito is around 6-8 years younger than Nagato actually.

Minato had to be atleast 10 years older than obito. And ethier way Madara still would have been walking around with no eyeballs for 10 to 12 years(the time between nagato getting rinnigan and obito's supposed death)

we all know that obito and madara will definitely have certain links, but i'm sure that it isn't necessary by age
