Well, I am sure your right -its a forbidden technique staying in it for too long probably has permanent ( unless your orochimaru ) consequences. Even might guy, a man who has trained himself to be able to withstand the upper teir gates- only enters them ( 5-7) for moments at a time. Against madara, he was probably in 7th gate for a few seconds- remember he is moving at hypersonic + speeds so what seems like alot of time in the manga is a few seconds.

-I wouldnot be surprised if anyone other than guy ( or top teirs) -tried to access gates 5-7 they could enter them for a single attack and have permanent consequence.

Guy broke his ribs and arm by being in his 7th gate for a moment ( 2 seconds?). Lets say he was in it for 3 minutes- he would probably die/crippled.

Lastly- the medical tactics in the naruto world while inferior in some senses- is superior in others- ie ( tsunade healed lee ) (kabuto healing sasuke) etc...

I think the clash with Madara is what caused the broken bones. Using Hirudora and the Hachimon against Kisame didn't leave him damaged at all.​

]. The more you physically train your body, the more you're able to withstand the effects of using the Gates, which is why he only came out with a couple of broken bones.

Well that's why gai and lee train. To keep their body in shape, they are more fit physically than most ninja, they should logically not have the same after effects of a average ninja trying to use gates. The cost is great but they worked hard to try and mitigate those effects.

It's not like he has none at all.

Well, he cannot maintain higher gates for long, which is a certainty. His muscles were literally ripped to shreds after using Afternoon Tiger only once against Kisame.
