So after so much misinformation, Weekly Shounen Jump finally confirmed what they are doing with the new opening.
The title of the opening is "Blood Circulator" by Asian Kung-Fu Generation

It seems what they are doing is: They will keep the current opening until the Itachi arc ends, and begin airing the new opening when canon returns in May. The new ending will still change this week as scheduled.

I'm so confused...Which one is the April Fools?

I feel like we should believe the Pierrot blogs than a twitter post. Pierrot blog said next week it will happen, even gave us details about the opening (they seemed to have worked on this OP for a long time).


It would be very strange for the Opening to not continue the usual schedule, so it's most likely an April Fools joke.

This comes from trom the latest issue of Weekly Shounen Jump that was just released, I don't know if Pierrot wrote that as a mistake out of habit or something. Because this is the first time since 8+ years that they are changing the opening schedule.

It may have something to do with this being the final opening for part 2.

This time the source is this weeks Shounen Jump issue, and they included the title of the opening "Blood Circulator". So I don't think there's much chance of it being fake.

Probably because we are entering the final arc of part 2, and AKFG is the most poplar band for Naruto. Plus there are some indications that the higher quality animators are starting to return.
