Maybe it's just me, but I didn't like the fact that Kishi made Sakura cry all the time. It just emphasized her weakness to me and made her seem only aware of her own feelings.

Naruti cried a lot because he was always feeling everyone else's pain. His tears were usually because he felt so much empathy for others. In your example, though, those are tears of frustration because he can't save Sasuke. So while they're not tears of empathy, they are still for someone else's pain.
