He did all that out of love. To make him stronger and be able to make him stand up for himself.
he did that to cause sasuke as much pain and suffering as he could, to drive him insane and break every last bit of sasukes sanity. he even toldsasuke to butcher innocent poeple in cold bood for the mangekeyo. itachi never cared who he had to kill for his own agenda. innocents included.
you think that brutal mental tortre on a 7 yer ol child is justified, or worse, heroic? you think that the equivalent of psychological RAPE is an act of love? you think beating someone to near death and breaking their bones savagely while simultaneously breaking down their psyche with cruel taunts and manipultion to get him to feel as much hate as possible, is an act of love? you think subjecting a screaming helpless small boy to witnessing the death of his whole fukin family in a torture dimension over and over for 72 hours is heroic?
You do realize that this is a world where children from young ages are basically "sold" (By the ideals of their family and community) into becoming child soldiers for a village.
This is not the same world we live in, it has different views as ours and the moral systems differ. What Itachi did was, in his opinion, the most approriate thing to do for the situation. Will you stop pretending as if everything he has done in the story didn't have an alternate motive?
it kind of is. because naruto has morals like "don't forsake your friends, dont lie to people, dont be a violent evil terrorist who hurts kids" and narutos morals are pretty close to most decent real life people. and itachi did everything naruto hates. he was a violent mindrapist who butchered hundreds of people.
by your logic, WE CAN FORGIVE ANYTHING and no one is a villain because, hey its not our world so who are we to judge. but the characters clearly viewed obito and hidan not just as enemies but sick selfish evil terrorists. naruto called pain out on his "justice" when pain's justice involved the destruction of a village.
nearly every non akatsuki character in the series desires peace and friendship. itachi fought against peace, preferring instead to use torture, murder, blackmail, and many other heinous actions all in the name of the corrupt goverment he apparently obeyed and even then he ignored konohas laws and rules, and didnt inform the hokage, his superior officer, of the changing situation. thus you can add high fukin treason to his crimes.
ive expained all this in a previous thread. you cannot tell me their world's morals differ from ours when it seems like they are just as disgusted with orochimaru/sasuke/obito/madara's actions as we are.
if their morals were so radically different as to treat each and every one of itachi and danzo's actions as acceptable and heroic, then they ALL are villainous to some degree and i refuse to believe a man like naruto is villainous.
