Will part 1 Lee vs Gaara still remain the best demonstration of Hachimon? Gai has never received a high quality episode and it seems he never will.

6 gated Gai vs Kisame - Bad
7 gated Gai vs Kisame - Bad
8 gated Gai vs Madara - ?Likely mediocre

That's a shame :(

That really sucks. It's funny how characters like Sai get amazing animated episodes. SP really ****ed up this time. We should all send a complaint to Hayate Date Twitter account

I like this guy, Yamashita, and kouda

Right!!!! Smh
Too bad Norio is a freelancer, he doesn't work for Pierrot like Yamashita and Kouda. I assume he's also extremely expensive to hire, since he's a rater famous veteran.

Yamashita is basically a young prodigy of sorts, and started out in his 20's doing some small scenes in the beginning of Shippuden. Within about 7 years he went from a minor animator to one of Pierrot's most talented people. Not only as an animator, but as a director and storyboard artist as well, which is pretty impressive to go that far in such a short time.

But that also means they now want to put him on the big ticket projects like the movies, so it means we see less of him in the regular episodes as he moves up in the ranks.

Wow I did not know he started in his 20's, and moved up in ranks that fast. Now that's some prodigy shit right there. I've noticed that Yamashita likes Madara. Did Yamashita work on opening 16? because I can tell by the art , and animation style, especially when he uses a lot sparks when metals clash (which I really love). Do you think he'll be working on the next opening?

Actually Yamashita was not in that opening.

The major scenes of that opening were done by Norio Matsumoto and Naoki Kobayashi

(Kobayashi animations in the spoiler tag)

I seriously did not know that, now I have a new favourite animator.

Did you know most people including I actually thought opening 16 was animated by Yamashita? I've noticed on YouTube people think Yamashita animated some parts of the opening.

For example this scene
You must be registered for see images

I could have sworn he animated this scene.

Btw could you check this thread and tell me your opinion

There were a lot of animators, but only a few of note. Yamashita was not there at all so I guesss people k just made the assumption.

Animation/Art Director: Masayuki Kouda
Storyboard & Unit Director: Gorou Sessha
Key Animation: Naoki Kobayashi, Norio Matsumoto, Anna Yamaguchi, Hiromi Yoshinuma, Retsu Ohkawara, Haru Wat, Daisuke Sumagari, Asuka Mamezuka, Tatsurō Kawano,Yoshiro Maeda, Mai Toda, Saburō Yoshino,

Do you think we'll get these people to do the next opening?

Also did Yamashita animate any scenes in Naruto shippuden ending 32, and 33?

I have no idea, there are several people that could do the opening. My guess would be Hirofumi Suzuki as the director, because he directs most of the openings. Yamashita's last bit of animation was in the Lee vs. Shira filler episode.

Also I heard about the suggestion thing, but I paid no attention to it because it sounded made up to me. I never saw anything about it on Hayato Date's twitter or anywhere else legitimate. Not to mention it sounds extremely far fetched that a Japanese studio is going to ask for and take suggestions from random foreigners.

7th gate gai vs kisame wasn't bad. It was actually pretty darn decent.

Also, from a simple 30 second preview, you can't judge the quality of an overall episode. Infact, I think the preview does show some fluidity and some cool shots. Yeah, it's not yamashita but heh, the man is busy so, at the end of the day, it is what it is.

Out of the 4 in-house teams Pierrot has working on the anime right now, Masaya Onishi is the worst when it comes to character drawings specifically. He's doing half of the episode, so I didn't even need to look at the preview to know what 50% of the episode is going to loook like. The 2nd animation director is actually good, but I'm afraid it looks like he's doing the Rikudou/Naruto meeting part of the episode instead of the fight.

Sometimes they will assign a Chief Animation Director to help correct the off-model character drawings. They normally only do that for outsourced episodes, but sometimes they will do it for Pierrot episodes too, so I hope that happens. The animation itself is probably decent enough, it's just his art that needs some major polishing.

The gates have been hyped throughout the story, but SP favors pairing fan service over plot fan service.

Poor Gai lost out on both counts XD

I am remaining optimistic, however foolish that might be.
