I don't understand the result of Madara VS Hashirama.

The manga said that Hashirama and Madara are very similar in power, and Hashirama are just a little stronger than Madara.

In their fight before the foundation of Konoha they almost tied. So how Hashirama still win after Madara have added a freaking Bijuu to his arsenal? Don't make sense too me...
