Really, I see People complaining about the revelations in the new chapter, talking about how BZ is suddenly the mastermind and behind everything and how Kishi convoluted the plot.
BZ isn't the mastermind, Kaguya is. It was all her plan, and BZ acted accordingly as her will and "child" (also a point where some people misunderstand that as him being a son of her like Hagoromo and Hamura...) We knew since BZ was revealed as Kaguya's will 4 weeks ago that he obviously was very involved behind the scenes, trying to eventually bring about her revival. The only thing we didn't know is if he was active before Madara supposedly "created" him.
BZ role really hasn't changed, he is still the will/closest servant of the big boss, he was created by Kaguya at the end of her life and worked to bring about Kaguya's return as he previously seemengly was created by Madara and tried to bring about his return. The only thing that changed is the scale of the plot, with a new layer/era being added before the warring states.
