I don't understand the conflict between Obito and Madara

They may have different motives but overall they're working towards the same plan. The only guess I can think of is that Obito may have known Madara's true intentions or something like that. If one of them casts the genjutsu on the moon, wouldn't the other still be benefiting as they can change whatever happens in it?

Pretty much what everyone said. I mean Madara is technically Obito's sensei. It's almost kinda like the relationship of Sasuke and Orochimaru. Madara is his sensei because he taught Obito the rikudo jutsus and yinyang techniques.

There is no conflict between them. They never liked or trusted each other. They were each others means to their own ends. Both of whom thought they held the upper hand. Madara thought Obito would give him loyalty for saving his life and teaching him so much and Obito never trusted him and knew he was being used. Obito took his time learned what he needed to learn got stronger and implemented Madara's plan because it suited him.

He liked the idea of a world where he could live his life like the accident had never happened and Rinn was still alive. Obito never had any intention of bringing Madara back and was surprised when Kabuto did it. I don't believe Madara really wanted that world but he knew Obito wanted it so to be able to use him he kept the lie up. I think Madara just wanted control of the ten tails.
