I'm doing an essay for class and it asks "what aspect of the social security act is an example of an implied power" and I don't understand what it is saying. Someone please help!!!
My sources say.......... Use a Search Bar![]()
Already did peoplegoogle it
yesHow does this act imply (not explicitly give, but indirectly suggest) power.
Helped a little and thanks. + repFirst you need to know what is an implied power, then know what social security act is.. thats what its saying
Implied power is a form of controll over people,, like when the government is having controll over what you eat in school
Social Security act,, is the act that guarantees a pension when you retire from work..
I just google it and this came out so i hope it helps... cool sig by the way..
Thanks, i understand what to do now, Thanks everyone also.i believe it is referring to the Constitution (in which case what im interpreting it as only applies if you live in the states) and in the Constitution are two parts that flatly contradict each other (forming the basis for the original two political parties: the federalists and the antifederalists): the elastic clause aka "the necessary and proper clause" (i think it is article one section 8 and clause 18? feel free to correct me on this) and the tenth amendment which states that if a power is not granted to the federal government then it is up to the state to decide thus a power that isnt in the Constitution but is taken anyways by Congress under the elastic clause is thus an implied power. Essentially your prompt is asking you to look at social security and determine what is an "implied power" (not specifically granted by the Constitution)
