This might seem like a no brainer but it hasn't been that clear to me, but now I'm starting to think that it doesn't really matter if people believe in God or not, it's not an indication for if you are stupid or crazy or not.


In theory Trump could be an atheist, and people are appauled by him.


And in theory any atheist could wake up one day and decide to be religious and it wouldn't change anything.


So if you are religious or not doesn't really matter, it doesn't really change who you are and it doesn't indicate if you are intelligent or not.


Personally I want nothing to do with religion, but that's just me.

Theres a difference between believing in a God and being religious. The former doesn’t necessarily make God into an idol to worship and create a dogmatic system by which believers must adhere to. In and of itself a belief in “God” isn’t harmful.
The latter on the other hand does create all those things and by doing so alienates anyone that doesn’t belive or adhere to the dogma, thus perpetuating never ending conflict and division with non believers and with those with other dogmatic religious belief systems of their own.

That's true to everything. General problems can be attributed to a lot of other things as well, but people's offense with religion is that it's like a breeding ground for them.

I don't really dislike the religious or anything, but I do dislike a lot of their beliefs and how they go about them. People blame religions for hating gays, but I don't even think it's that; I think plenty just hate gays to begin with and then use whatever book to justify it.
I would not be so bothered if even half of them lived up to their standards too though. Blatant disregard for the Ten Commandments and numerous other rules, yet still willing to hold random people they don't know to them. I can count on one hand the number of people that don't curse, in a Christian majority, that is telling.

The label encourages that people are suppose to "consider" being religious, and that religion "owns" us.We are not owned by religion or belong to religion...so when we DON'T believe in it, people shouldn't be considered "anything"...it's just reality.

There is nothing wrong with being religious in a sense you're worshipping God; there is however something wrong when you politically enforce religion that produces negative results to society. Same applies to atheism. Nothing is wrong when you don't want to believe in God, but you have no rights to politically enforce anti-religious sentiments, as communists did in the Soviet Union.
