[Discussion] I dont think Blackbeard is Evil or really the bad gay....

I dont think Blackbeard is Evil or really the bad guy....

I dont really see it cause with everybody that had a "D" in their name so far in One Piece turned out in the end to actually be good people but with different viewpoints of the world.....

I dont see him as main antagonist material as of now, what do you guys think?

I don't think he is per say "EVIL," but he is an enemy. I'm sure something happened in his childhood that caused him to be the way he is today. He is obsessed with gaining more and more power, possibly something happened when he was young where he swore that he would never be considered "weak" again, and that may also be why he has such strong beliefs towards going after your dreams.

He really thrives for power, so in his childhood, something must have happened and blamed his own weakness. Probably someone close to him, like a parent. Somehow I'd like it to be about a grandfather or a grandmother, rather than a parent.

Blackbeard is one of the coolest characters and some of the things he says really makes you think he´s a good guy sometimes and he doesn´t even look or act evil.
All he wants is power and to follow his dream, he just does that the wrong way.
