Why would Minato transport Kurama and himself to another dimensions ?
Minato could just use another space-time barrier to send it to another safe place with no people, Minato will not lose any chakra by using space-time barrier.

I think he will battled with Kurama along, not with Hiruzen or bunch of Konoha people, cause he will not let Kurama hurt or kill people who living on Konoha, that's why he transport Kurama away to stay away from them.
Minato could have drag on and keep Kurama down for a while, but look at this :

Minato says " Gotta put up a barrier " Minato has much chakra, he could do the sealing jutsu on Kurama, but Kushina used her chains to hold down Kurama.

Why would Minato transport Kurama to another place? It would just run loose and make his way back to the village. Besides no Kurama= Dead Naruto.
