I DBZ overrated

No DBZ is not overrated but when compared to some newer anime, it falls short plot-wise.

Kinda. Slightly linear plot line but the fight scenes and characters were amazing imo. Many shounen anime have used elements from it including Naruto/Hunter X Hunter/One piece..etc.

I watched it while growing up so there is also a nostalgia bias (as it might be for many people). But it is still unbelievably badass and Goku is one of my favorite fictional characters of all time.

Other than Vegeta, Goku, Gohan and Piccolo slimly, the characters are mediocre, plot is mediocre, fights are awesome though.
