I have gone through a million tutorials but none of them are working.I just got Photoshop CS4 and CS6(I bought them from my brother and friend) and neither of the two are simple as gimp. And, it is not like I can quit it.I paid over $500. Somethings in life can be like...

*gasp*

Pirating is illegal! Just because CS4 can be easily found at the pirate bay(.se) with thousands of seeders, making the download quick and easy, doesn't mean you should go get uTorrent for free and steal!

My word! You're just turning CEOs like the one heading Adobe into poor little millionaires! CEOs are used to a certain way of living, people. They can't just adjust to not being billionaires over night!

(I know, CEOs don't make that much, but this is satire people, calm yourselves)

OT: Keep trying. Nobody who touches that program is ever good at it right away. It's incredibly useful and versatile, and very very simple once you get the hang of it.

Talent is practicing over and over to become great. No one is talented by nature, and anybody who claims to be is straight up lying to you. I mean, think about it. It they tell you they're awesome because they worked really hard at it, you gain hope and inspiration. You've become competition.

It is only natural to be confused (and possibly overwhelmed) with the program the first time you see it.

Keep practicing. Keep experimenting. Watch and follow tutorials. Make mistakes and rectify them. Eventually you'll get the hang of it. So don't give up just yet :) .

What you should have done was download from the Adobe Website and start a 30 day trial, that way you wouldn't regret paying that much for the sofware you've now given up on. But you're not at a complete loss, you can be patient and learn eventually, little by little through tutorials on youtube. I use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Audition, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Dreamweaver, it seemed complicated at first, but with some time allocation and determination you can get good at it in no time.

If the tutorials aren't helping you, either you're doing something wrong or you're watching a too old video. PhotoShop is updated constantly and new features are replaced with the old ones. You also have to remember that some tools are hidden behind the others in the tool bar (right click the mouse to open the options), so it might be that you're using the wrong tool.

I also agree with what Drizzy said; PhotoShop has tutorial and a trial, which helps you to get more comfortable with the program and better. You should install a trial next time you try out a new program and not buy it for 500$ if you don't even know how to make a border. That's what trials are for.
