I saw a picture of the time iruka was like 'hes naruto of the leaf' that made me think about how the leaf village used to be dicks to naruto. I think about today how they are all on his d**k. It pisses me off tbh i know naruto has the ultimate forgiveness jutsu but after ****ing him over like that to happily accept the kyuubis chakra, the reason they made his life hell, without a shred of guilt pisses me off. Its shounen but seriously Naruto should still have some emotional scars because damn his childhood was shitty for no fault of his own but since he started saving lives everyone acts like they love him.

Imagine growing up being knowingly ostracized then as soon as you become a hero everyones all lovey dovey to you and is sponging of the reason why they hated you.

I agree with you, I find it it to be wrong...People shouldn't like others for there actions, but for who they are. So, it definitely disgusts me sometimes.

He overcame that hate and now chooses compassion and love. He forgave Obito for crying out loud. The dude was the sole reason why his parents died! And that spawned his loneliness.

But, don't you hate the fact that people used to spit on his existence until he saved them? (He saved a lot of people, without them knowing though)

He does have scars. That's why he is so compassionate. Why would he want anyone else to feel the pain that he hated so much? That pain is what caused this war, every war before it, and every conflict in the history of mankind. It applies to the real world too.

Yeah kishi should have shown us people feeling guilty for treating him like that, but nobody even bothered apologizing to him

Forgiveness isn't for the other people. It's for yourself.

If Naruto hadn't embraced those resentments and let them go (waterfall of truth), he never would have gained control of the kyuubi chakra or befriended all of the bijuu.

Resentment looks back; forgiveness looks forward.

But, yes, those villagers behaved horribly toward Naruto, and the fact that they forgave themselves too easily sits wrong with me.

Nah, it was ignorance that clouded their impression of naruto, it took saving for them to see it. Nothing wrong with that.

Nothing wrong with it... They treated this guy like shit! I remember in one of flashbacks how they were laughing at him and said that he "Stinks".

You forgive for your own sake not for the others, and Naruto is a compassionate guy

This is the same exact way I feel about it. Regarding Naruto.

But...

ot: It's admirable on Naruto's behalf to forgive them. However, it's bad on the villagers' part to not feel guilty about it.

Though, a few alluded to the fact that they did during the Pein invasion. Ebisu comes to mind.

Also, you have to remember during the Pein invasion, Naruto was not yet a hero. He was only a hero after the fight was over and Nagato revived everyone. Not a soul in Konoha betrayed Naruto when people when the Pein bodies and Konan were asking for intel on him. That says alot.

Not everyone in the village is heartless. Just human. People act stupid sometimes and bandwagon, plus the behavior of parents goes to the children too. They're no longer like that anyway, and stopped hating Naruto long before the Pein arc, specifically during part one.

Konoha civilians stopped hating Naruto around the time Jiraiya came into the picture back in part one and Tsunade was brought back. They even were upset that Sasuke left and a few villagers were shown in panels saying "Oh no. I hope that Naruto-kun isn't too upset about that". People cared and began to accept him then.

Though they didn't begin to admire him until he was the hero. However, this is understandable since people just praise the heroes or prodigies in NV, it's always been like that.

Hmmm...I seem to remember a certain person telling me to stop feeling guilty for everything I thought I did wrong. Is this any different? :)

To be fair, they were on the verge of death until Naruto came in like an Angel and saved their lives. At that point almost everyone would turn and for good reason.

I think the tides turned when Naruto defeated Pain. At that point they realized that they couldn't do anything else but believe in him. Sure they ruined his childhood but it was from ignorance. If anything this proves how strong Naruto is, being able to change people (which is the story of his life at this point) rather then how these ninja are jumping on a bandwagon.

Couldn't explain it any better than this. Also they atarted liking him after he beat Neji in his fight. Then when he beat Gaara it grew. When he helped save Gaara from Akatsuki furthering the relationship between the leaf and sand they were more happy to see him.

When he helped kill Kakuzu they admired his strength. When Jiraiya died they felt terrible for his loss and finally realized he , just like them, was human.

while i think there should be a lot of people on their knees in from of naruto, he was right to forgive them. true they treated him like crap for no real reason, but who he is relies on that perseverance though hard times. maybe if he was always loved as his father wanted him to be, he would end up as just another guy. or maybe he's be like sasuke who everybody loved, but push them away and claim he's alone. that's another contrast between these two characters. you have 2 people who are both orphaned. one seeks to gain bonds, while the other pushes them away. one forgives, while the other seeks vengeance. one becomes a savior, the other becomes a tyrant. naruto had to forgive to become who he is, or like he said himself, he would have been just like sasuke. i do however think the villagers should hold some kind of ceremony where they acknowledge their failings as it applies to him and celebrate what he has become.
