1. Vegeta's character: Vegeta acts completely out of character here. I don't care how overwhelmingly powerful a character is Vegeta would never stoop to the level he does to suck up to Beerus. What happened to "there's one thing a Saiyan always keeps, HIS PRIIIIIIIDE!!!" That's what was so cool about Vegeta, even when he knew he didn't stand a chance he'd never abandon his Saiyan pride as the Prince of All Saiyans yet in Super we see him time and time again get humiliated by Beerus and eat it.

2. Too much corny humor: I'm gonna be doing a lot of comparisons to GT because that's the other continuation of the series we have to choose from. GT had some cringe worthy humor especially in the search of the BSD arc, but after that it got better and the humor didn't involve making characters act goofy as **** and out of character for the sake of jokes aimed at a 3 year old audience. When the woman of the series tease Vegeta about his mustache prompting him to shave it, it was actually funny and in character for Vegeta. He didn't act all unrealistically goofy and childish about it, he acted like a normal adult that was embarrassed about his appearance due to his wife and daughter mocking him. That's in character for Vegeta as while he does get embarrassed he tries to hide it but not in a goofy anime way more like a normal humans sort of way.

They also insert humor really innapropriately making every single major event lose any tension it might have had, like the Golden Frieza fight constantly being interrupted to listen to Beerus and his homo butler talk about food and Bulma to yell comedically at Jaco for being annoying. The Frieza fight was boring, badly animated and unnecessary in itself, they thought how can we make this worse and they did this.

3. Hardly even written by Toriyama: ok Toriyama writes some story boarding and dialogue and character designs but he isn't drawing a scene by scene manga that shows exactly his vision so a lot of it is filled in by Toei the incompetent man children behind the disaster of an anime One Piece New World. Even GT had better art direction and overall production value, Super seems like the people behind the jokes and cinematic direction are not even out of elementary school.

4. Nothing is explained: ok so if 7 pure hearted saiyans stand in a circle and hold hands one of them turns into a kaioken look alike with smaller muscles that can kick Majin Buu's ass no problem. WHY THO? ****ING WHY. And why can't they do that for everyone then and just have everyone be a super saiyan God wouldn't that be useful, but they don't do it, WHY??? WHY THE **** NOT WHY DOES GOHAN NEED TO TRAIN AGAIN WHY NOT JUST DO THE RITUAL INSTEAD OMFG.

5. Shameless Asspulls: super saiyan God was a shameless asspull, at least SS4 connected Oozaru with Super Saiyan and made a new form by adding previously established elements together. Super Saiyan God was a rehash of the legendary super saiyan legend and came out of thin air with no explanation to why it even exists why saiyans can become gods why why why why why why why.

6. ****ing redundant: ok super powered being wants to fight a challenging opponent because he's bored, um Perfecf Cell and the Cell games? Oh and he loves food, MAJIN BUU??? Oh and Frieza comes back and dies again yeah.....oh and look another Frieza shows up omggg so creative I'm so interested to see Goku fight ANOTHER version of Frieza right after he fought Frieza AGAIN in a boring battle with no new techniques or display of destructive feats we haven't seen before. Oh yeah and there's a tournament, *yawn*

GT had a villain that was actually connected to the Saiyans controversial past, he was a victim this time around other than Frieza who victimized Saiyans. Talk about a breath of fresh air!!! And he actually puts the heroes in a jam that actually requires desperate measures instead of a random asspull to fix everything (looking at you time travel whis)

Then we have Super 17 which at least was better written than Frieza training for a few months to be millions of times stronger. Why? Because the androids themselves were already far superior to Frieza and his father and Dr. Myuu's alien technology machine mutants were already superior to Dr. Gero's androids. So the combination of them would be pretty powerful you'd assume.

Then you got the evil energy stored in the dragon balls spawning God like dragons. It's a stretch, but the black star dragon balls made enough power to destroy earth with one wish, over time such energy build up could give rise to something pretty fearsome. Also making the dragon balls the final villains was a perfect send off for a series called Dragon Ball.

7. No tension: Literally no tension. We've already seen the movies, but even if we didn't the goofy humor being rudely injected in every serious moment reminds us that this show is AFRAID to pull punches and isn't going to shock us with anything too edgy. The characters are safe. How could Frieza be a threat of Whis and Beerus promised to protect their food? He wasn't a threat, he was a butchered character that was an insult to the Frieza of the Namek arc who was actually scary and creepy and a legendary shonen villain, perhaps one of the GOAT. And yet he bored everyone to death in Super despite having an entire arc dedicated to him. Pathetic. And so far this tournament lacks any real tension, despite not knowing the nature of Hit the phallic headed dude who most likely is nothing more than another guy with lasers more powerful than Goku who needs to be overcome.

GT had better animation, better art and story direction, made more sense in terms of power levels, actually decided to make sense of the new transformation, had characters act more in character and more realistically human in general, had better character designs, had more tension, clearly had far better production values, had superior humor, superior villains, and actually felt like a logical continuation to DBZ instead of this Super bullshit.

Tl;dr Super manages to insult the dragon ball franchise, every single character, every single precious story arc, and even manages to insult GT by advertising itself as the "true" continuation yet being inferior in every ****ing way possible and being a painfully boring mess of Asspulls redundant plot and characters with boring designs and personalities and cringe inducing humor aimed at extremely young children. Wanna rip on Naruto? **** THAT. Studio Pierriot respects the series enough to keep the blood and darkness from the manga hell look at the episode "I'm in Hell" damn you ain't gonna see that shit in Super because Super lacks any sort of self respect to have any real tension of danger because it's just supposed to be a fun goofy romp with our beloved favorite characters but it fails because it's boring and unfunny badly animated lame unnecessary and probably the worst anime I've ever watched. It makes GT look like a masterpiece written by geniuses that actually gave a **** about the plot and characters and a didn't go out of their way to insult the viewers intelligence and be corny and unfunny as much as possible with their sad excuse for animation.

It's not aimed at you, the new gen kids love it and they seem to be making good money off the previous fanbase too. Take off your nostalgia goggles people, dbs is bad, we knew it when the first episode aired but it's time you admit it, denial won't change anything.

Also: tl;dr.

It is not up to you to decide what is canon and what not
And This. Like Karna stated. It's not aimed at us "old timers" it's aimed at the new generations. And this is what they like.

Besides Vegeta's reactions toward Brett's are not all that out of character. Past enemies Vegeta faced he knew there was a small chance for victory or he simply underestimated their power so he was cocky.

There was no room for mistakes when Beerus and Whis's names are dropped. (And Whis is stronger then Beerus and his mentor in case you forgot)

Vegeta knew right at the go that there was no chance of winning against him. But after Beerus laid the smackdown in Bulma his pride kicked in.....and Vegeta got gis teeth kicked in for it too XD

And here I thought everyone thought super was gonna be better then GT :p super has been a fun watch and I don't mind some of the stuff you mentioned ( but I agree on the explaining stuff, why is pilaf a kid if he had more then one wish he could have said shenron make me just a little bit older like early 20s and then the 3rd to rule the world) honestly I like both GT and super both have issues but neither them or heck even z will be better then dragon ball back when humans could do something and there wasn't a transformation for every problem
