I don't think he do, at least not when it comes to Lee. I bet the bigest reason for him being sad that Neji died is that Lee never got to beat him.

Yh it seems guy didn't care to much for neji. Not that he didn't like him or anything but he probably just respected neji's skill and saw him as a great shinobi
