I have to do Bible studies for an hour every Saturday and I've been doing it for over 3 years. To say I have never read the Bible is an ignorant and incorrect statement. Anyways, my views are not based on a lack of reading the Bible, but because I have read it and have grown up in a largely and dedicated religious family. If a guy comes into your house and threatens to kill you, God won't be stopping it. You'd be foolish to think he would. If you have faith, good for you. All to you then. But don't try to pretend that God makes you any more safe than me
Noones pretending.

If you dont feel safe with Gods way of life then youve been reading for three years in vain. I believe that God will protect me and the best way to make sure is that I follow his will. Nothing else

now you can seriously start kissing my round candy ass...
Lmao what a**? You mean the extension of your back?

OT: On a serious note, similar to what other members have said, I do think their is a creator. The universe had to have been created by something, but I don't necessarily feel that it's a "someone". And if it was, the universe was created so long ago, no one would have possibly been able to document it. I tend to believe empirical data provided by science rather that what people claim to have happened with little to no proof.

What makes you think God will protect you? You, one person. What about all his other religious devout followers who were killed because some countries had strict rulers who were against that religion? Or his devout followers who have died in natural disasters? Or his devout followers who have been killed by a robber, rapist or plain murderer? What makes your life so much more significant than theirs that God is gonna alter events to save your life, but left them to die?

People say God values free will, that's why he doesn't stop people like the guy that shot up Sandy Hook. Well, I'm not to sure I feel safe under a God who values the free will of a murderer more than the lives of children.

You mean empirical data given to you by yahoo stories or spoon fed to you in classes.

Now now, what does arguing accomplish? Have your beliefs without enforcing them on to others. Shame on you, bad doggy.

How probable?

based on what you typed im guessing you believe in him in the christian way. well i believe he exists and he created us but that is as far as he took it. he doesnt expect us to abide by a man made book and live our lives in some specific way. i think he made us to be ourselves and thats it. like a project. he's like a kid with an ant farm but he doesnt mess with us and he goes around creating other ant farms on other planets

God works through us if we accept his way. If we take in sin then that impedes him from helping us. We must be able to recognize examples in the scripture to real life. Only that way we know what to do. His way of life will save us all.Unfortunately there are those that do not believe in him nor the life he gives us and are unfortunately unaware of how dangerous this world is.
