I believe I know why obito wanted sasuke On his side.

Couple chapters ago, We found out that Obito and naruto are parallels and are exact opposite's of each other,

Naruto being the savior with the will of fire, and obito being the savior with the power of hatred.

During the war, Obito had been showing a lot of interest in naruto and Everything about him, He wanted to understand naruto so that he can deny every bit of him and the people he cared about.

This is where sasuke comes into play, Obito wants Sasuke to be the one to Make naruto lose hope, just as obito did.

Obito wants naruto to follow his path because that is what obito believes is the right way.


Conclusion:

Obito wanted to use sasuke to deny naruto and make him lose hope in order to follow the path of obito.

Well Naruto believes in the will of fire and peace through love, Sasuke and obito believe Peace needs to be brought with power instead of love,

Obito wants sasuke to defeat naruto and ultimately prove that his way of peace [love] is wrong and that he should believe in peace through power instead of his old ideals.
