So Madara towards the end saw that edo was coming to its end so he tried to finish them off quickly.
then his spirit starts to disappear, but then uses susanno to try kill hokage. fails thanks to Dan. then for whatever reason his spirit doesn't leave in the end, a few chat panels later he uses the seal to release himself from edo and become living again. But surely in the time it took from spirit leaving panel to release panel he should have been long gone?
also this does now mean he has lost his unlimited chakra and unkillable body right?

Nonono never get confused with time when you are reading a manga what seems like minuets could just be 20-30 seconds. Remember chiyo and kimimaro souls started to be returning last chapter and it just left this chapter. But this was probably within 30 seconds or so. Try not to get confused with time when reading the manga

Also no basically he his now a permanent edo he will regenerate, he will still have unlimited chakra but now he is complete control of his body forever and he doesn't have to fear of the jutsu becoming undone

Edo zombies seem to take a little while before they completely disappear. I suppose that depends on the willpower of the Edo themselves; someone with a strong willpower may be able to hold their soul and the body together for longer.

Since the technique has been released, I think that means Madara has been reverted back to the same state he was in before the technique released. It's sort of the same as Itachi was when Kotoamatsukami was used on himself, except Madara won't disappear with the other Edos.

No he was released from control but he was still under the edo tensei contract what madara did was break the contract now he is just a free edo and can do what he wants

I think Tobi is Madara's son or grandson. When he will meet him his soul will depart! or Sasuke and Naruto together will defeat Madara!
But i must say Madara is so damn COOL! His attitude is so cool. Like he acts all evil but still he is treating the Kages and the ninjas like his students or something!!! Madara is just plain cooool!

Madara released himself from the edo tensei. you may say well itachi released! no, itachi freed himself from kabuto's'' control. while madara released the edo tensei contract, aka he freed himself from the edo tensei's control and even weakness over him, to cut things short, its like he is his own summoner and can control his existence, so thats why he could say he is immortal and ''uncontrollable'' also notice madara's skin in the last chapter its normal, while itachi's skin was still zombie.
