Characters like Electro and Human Torch are expendable to most and they got great actors to play them (Electro anyways), but I see your point. I feel like they should just stick to the source. I know most people don't care for Electro, but somewhere he's someones favorite and they might not like this. I, for one, don't like what they are doing with Wally West in DC comics. They made him bi racial in their new reboot just for diversity in my opinion. DC has been known to do that (Gay Green Lantern Alan Scott).

Anyways, I doubt we'll ever see a different colored major hero. Those characters are way too established. It's possible, but I doubt it.

And I get the whole racism thing. Nobody should be defended. It's not racism. It's just there's 50+ years of a character who has looked a certain way and they are changing that. To me, it all depends why the change is happening and if it works for me. For example, I HATE that Marvel is doing an older Hank Pym. That sucks for me, but most won't care.

This is not about being racist , you don't change canon stories , every comic character has it's background , race , story etc , trust me when I tell you that you will never see a White Panther , Black Superman , or a black batman , this is never happening , Electro & Human torch are lesser names , so it really doesn't matter , although Human torch was a stupid idea because her sister will still be white & someone will play the adopted role , which is lame & stupid , again , you do not change canon & what's already establish in the story .


Ask yourselves one thing if you still dont get it : Naruto is a story already establish right ? Would you like it if they make the live action movie & cast Naruto black ? No right .

I don't think we'll ever see a black superman, but the other two are possible. It actually wouldn't be that crazy for them to be black either. Batman, as Christian Bale said, is just a symbol. It doesn't matter who's under the cowl. And we've seen several different Batmen already, so if they make the next one black what's the big deal, as long is it isn't Bruce Wayne?

As for Spiderman there already is a black-hispanic one with Miles Morales, so who cares?

Jaime Foxx is a good actor, but I don't think he fits Electro.

But it's not just the actor, the writing and backstory for Electro in Spiderman 2 is just awful. They made him act like a tool.


I think Aaron Paul would have been the perfect Electro.
