Possibly, not likely at this state though. once upon a time i believed that kishi would have elaborated on they hyuga, Since their perception is higher than the uchicha, but now uchicha is too haxed

The normal sharingan is enough to defeat the byakugan. The Uchiha and the Senju, not the Hyuuga, were known as the strongest clans before the village system. There is a reason for that. People seem to think that Kaiten is the ultimate answer in defense. The problem is that it uses pure chakra as a defense, which forces the user to lose chakra more quickly. The Uchiha specialized in manipulated shuriken jutsu, which could make a Hyuga lose chakra by forcing him to keep up Kaiten.
I was always saying that you should not take the byakugan users lightly.Because kishi is always showing what the sharingan can do and the how well it is used in different types of battles, viewers or uchiha fan boys tend to grossly underestimate the byakugan.It was stated by ten ten in part 1 that neji defences are more formidable than gaara's, a shinobi known for his incredible defences. Because a gentle fist user can see almost 360 degrees with a 50m plus radius, they can see any attack coming that doesnt enter the blind spot and effectively dodge it. Because of this one ability there evasive abilities are incredible making them able to dodge all and every attack. If an attack should enter the blind spot which is very rare, they will use the rotation to effectively ward off the attack.It took kidomaru multiple tries and even entering curse mark level 1 to finally land a single blow on neji. That is how he found out that there is a blind spot.all other attacks that neji sees he is able to effectively dodge or block it and only the attacks that enter the blind spot where able to hit.This is a hyuga's defensive abilities, evasion and rotation.
As it relates to there offensive abilities,it is quite formidable as well. kakashi stated that the ability to inflict severe internal trauma with minimal external force, combined with chakra network manipulation, makes the Gentle Fist the most reputable and fearsome taijutsu style known in all of Konohagakure. it has also been stated on many instances that going up against the gentle fist in close combat is suicide.The only weaknes a gentle fist user has is long range fighting which every opponent uses when facing a byakugan user.It has been stated by neji that any chakra based substance can be destroyed by the gentle fist by attacking the weak point of the jutsu. examples would be kidomaru's web or kisame's water prism jutsu.amateratsu and susanoo uses chakra, therefore they are chakra based substances and hence can be destroyed by the gentle fist by using there byakugan to find and attack the weak point of the justu. I also agree that the byakugan user is looking at the chakra network system and so visual genjutsu is rendered ineffective against the byakugan user.If most ninjutsu and genjutsu and all taijutsu(because it is close range combat) is useless against the byakugan user (eg.neji), then the byakugan is a very powerful dojutsu that rivals the sharingan.

I +rep you for the explanation, but even this is not enough to convince uchiha fanbooys that the hyuuga is still powerful despite them being weaker in comparison. Watch the next comment being "Are you kidding me? This guy is a major troll. Any uchiha can solo entire Hyuuga clan." Its all they know how to say and is the extent of their knowledge concerning anyone else besides the uchiha.

I LOLed when I read the name of the thread and then LOLed again when I read this lololol. Itachi would wipe the floor with neji. Even without genjutsu you are highly underestimating Itachis speed strength ninjutsu and taijutsu

I could actually argue neji vs 3-tomoe sasuke and say that they tie or neji wins with high diff and even argue that he could maybe win against MS sasuke due to the high chakra draining techniques. Everyone elses response: Sasuke 2-tomoe could beat neji(no explanation), Sasuke would wipe the floor with Neji(Again no explanation) Its all they know how to say.

Neiji is a close-range fighter. Sasuke is a mid-range fighter. Neiji has to get close to Sasuke or Itachi in a fight, which means going through Susan'no and/or dodging genjutsu or Amaterasu, which ain't happening. Same with Naruto. When Naruto fights Sasuke, he will lose. Ya heard it here first. Kishi is on record saying he likes Sasuke more.
