If people wore masks as some sort of fashion/cultural statement after this pandemic passes, would it not be seen as an insult to those who suffered and died?
Perhaps that's debatable, but the idea has something to it. Similar to black face and such, taking something forced upon some and used to make them suffer, and then making a joke of it is disrespectful.
So what then of hunting? Our ancestors, all of our ancestors, had to hunt directly to feed. There was no way around it. So to take a part of their struggle and make a sport of it . . Is it not the same as making a fashion item of health masks and such? A mockery of a great struggle?
When one then adds that hunting (and fishing etc) have environmental draw backs, its even worse.
