I interpreted it more as, residual nen that continues to exist after death (Like Neferpitou's teripscora). But then all the abilities that Chrollo stole should remain in the book even if its users die. But that is not the case here.

Maybe there are some forms of nen abilities that get stronger after a person dies. That information just opened a lot of doors.

I cant see him losing but at the same time I dont see Hisoka dying right now either.

Chrollo strategy seems full proof. And his ability just too good. It'll be like a cat and mouse game where if you find a fake mouse it might blow and kill you

Naa, he had no intention to kill the Zoldyks. He was merely buying for time until illumi was done with his job.
Whereas he intends to kill hisoka now, or so it seems at least.
