Hunter ninja?

So i was rewatching the early eps of Naruto, and they were talking about hunter ninja. Being that they are ninja who have a ligh level of skill sent out to kill and retrieve rogue ninja, and their bodies. So with that being said here are my questions.Why is Akatuski even around/successful?

Itachis was alive and has been around for freaking 3 years with the secrets of the leaf to use as leverage against Danzo. But no one or two hunter ninja could stop him or track him? Wth?

Are hunter ninja of the given villages anbu a bunch of weak fools or what?

I mean the leaf has had over 2+ years to track down and eliminate Itachi. Danzo the leader of anbu Root knew if Sauske was messed with or killed Itachi said he would tell all the leafs secrets to other lands?

The mists hunter ninja failed to take out Zabuza as well., and Kisame was sitting pretty easy being with itachi as well.

The waterfall village left Kakazu alive for 80 something years. its kind of wierd when you think about it. Deideria(a known terrorist) escaped the stone village.

if you watch more recent eps, you would also know that itachi threatened to do something about him, if he killed sauske. Also, Danzo was in on the Killing spree, and their terms agreed not to hurt him.

Itachi threatened Danzo after the Uchiha were murdered, and he left the leaf village.

All of the characters you just mentioned were exceptionally skilled Shinobi.

I know they were but except for Kisame they were all killed by chunin level ninja. (sauske is still technicly a gennin like naruto right?) Regardless of that they are some bomb ass ninja in the other villages with some crazy techniques. Even the mists anbu ninja had info about "sharingan" Kakashi in their bingo books. Anbu and hunter ninja are supposed to be exceptionaly skilled ninja themselves.

Like Ao from the mist, and Foo from the leaf. Exceptionaly skilled ninja but wth?

Kakashi Hatake, the ninja genius who became chunin at the age of 6 and an X-ANBU (he is definitely not weak) found difficulties againt most of the akatsuki members he faced.
Guy, his rival, also did and had to use the gates in a (4?, the other 3 where mostly disabled) vs 1 against the 30% strength of Kisame

Dont forget the quasi-immortal duo Kakuzu & Hidan as well as the god like pain.

just a quick thought i could be wrong but i believe the hunter shinobi arent always necessarily sent to kill they are also trackers so when they find a target that is too strong they report back to their village and slap an S-rank on it then hand it over to a selected team. oh and hello all i'm new here lol

First welcome to the base. I thought Guy went five or 6 gates vs the Kisame clone? And Neji freed himself and dont recall lee might have freed himself as well, and then they rescued tenten?

Hidan and Kakazu didnt do as well as Negato and his paths of pain.Hidan was exploded and used to kill a hart of his teammate. Kakazu was messed up by Naruto, and Kakashi. Could be off on the accounts of who killed how many of Kakazus harts.

Kinda makes hunter ninja seem like a bunch of full of crap douche bags. Sakura said hunter ninja are exceptional ninja with advanced techniques and abilites and knowladge of the human body. < thats paraphraseing it but watch eps 10 of Naruto. This is what brought on these questions/thread.





Like Kabuto I'd consider a hunter ninja. Shusui I could also see being a hunter ninja.

Makes a lot of sense.

The Kisame clone was practically created to delay not defeat the opponent so it went awfully good for it's perpous.
The first loss of Kakuzu's heart and Hidan's defeat was due to the exceptional brain power of Shikamaru while Kakuzu's defeat was due to the newly developed S-rank (or higher, as kakashi describes it) rasen-shuriken.....
None of these ore small feats.
however there is one thing to consider:
in a highly developed, fully organized village. What is the possibility of a lower than A-rank ninja to go rouge.... Very slim i think.
obviously this is just a descussion, so correct me if i'm wrong.

you don't have to be a genius like shikamaru to track down rogue ninja. Even so its dumb to make a tracking squad of hunter ninja to track down, if they are stupid enough to think they could take down the 6 tails jinjuriki and have to send for a second team of S ranked jounin wait for them to get there and then battle.

well its a bit hard to track down one of the top ninjas in akatsuki even if they tracked him down facing him would be a whole nother story even with kisame there they would of picked up on sum1 following them fast with the shak skin
