The only problem I have with the OP is this:After reading the Viz Translated, it said Naruto summon the Sage's soul. Therefore, the Sage never intended on meeting Naruto. It was actually Sasuke then, the Sage wanted meet. Since Naruto is the main character, Kishi couldn't leave him out of the conversation Grandfather of all Shinobi.
The Sage must have realized how perfect Sasuke was, and he needed to see it with his own eyes. Can't blame the old man. Even I have trouble believing how perfect Sasuke is sometimes.

Monkey see, monkey do.One of your legendary thread.I love it
I agree with the fact Kishi did use the words summon in the manner my friend Solo has expressed. Naruto must have summoned the Rikudou unwillingly for gaining the beasts trust. Sasuke had the sage convinced that his ideals were worth acknowledging as the better of Indras Reincarnations. It doesn't matter. We're not talking logic, we're talking facts. It doesn't make sense that Madara can do Susano'o without eyes, but he can. I can't argue it, because he did. So I have no choice, but to accept it.
The Sage said Naruto summon my soul. Simple as that. How he did it, why did it, and when did it all is irrelevant because he did it. LMAO!!
What I think objectively is twofold. For the SO6P to want to speak to someone, there has to be a motive, interest. I believe that to hold true. I think that intuitively speaking, it is safe to assume that an interest is motive enough for wanting to meet and talk to a person in a positive way. Just by virtue of the fact that we are debating proves this. We have an interest in proving our claim and disproving another person's claim. And that interest is the motive for us communicating in this thread.
With that been said, objectively speaking even though the Sage was summoned by Naruto, the SO6P does have an interest in Naruto. This is evident in the Sage's friendliness to Naruto, the Sage earnestly wanting Naruto to understand and know certain things and the Sage openly saying that Naruto reminds the Sage of the Sage's son.
With that having been said, the Sage did indeed want to meet/speak with Naruto.
Sorry if this is a long post and all. Here's a smiley face![]()
I think this guy is the only one who knows exactly what's going on.The only problem I have with the OP is this:
Just because somebody is summoned, does not mean they don't want to meet a person. For example, in the Manga, various summons can be called by the shinobi. The summons were summoned. This does not necessarily mean that the summon does not want to help in that certain situation. I think that's true that he was summoned but that doesn't mean that he didn't want to talk to Naruto.

That's true as well Champ. Naruto isn't Senju, but the almighty plot saves the day.Probably Sasuke is Indra descendants. Naruto isn't even a direct Senju, more plot he got to see Rikudo
