Grindelwald, described as being a shade less skilful than Dumbledore and the second most powerful Dark Wizard of all time behind Voldemort, could he beat the latter with the Elder Wand whilst Voldey only has his normal wand?

Dumbledore beat Grindelwald who had the Elder Wand at the time, that's how it came into his possession.

Hard to say . (._. ) I doubt Voldemort could defeat the young Dumbledore who defeated Grindelwald , so I'm going to go with Grindelwald .


Dumbledore is top tier IMO . Even as an old man he took on Voldy .

Hard to say . (._. ) I doubt Voldemort could defeat the young Dumbledore who defeated Grindelwald , so I'm going to go with Grindelwald .


Dumbledore is top tier IMO . Even as an old man he took on Voldy .

Even at over 110 years old, Voldemort still feared him and gave him a run for his money.

That's debatable.

Older Dumbledore had the Elder Wand, far more experience and most likely an even wider range of spells and even when he was getting close to death, he was still capable of this:

Don't get me wrong, you could be right, but Grindelwald was portrayed as his equal and Dumbledore would admit inferiority to him in some aspects. Such as how Dumbledore was said to be more skillful, but Grindelwald was said to be more talented.

Also his fight with Grindelwald was hyped to be the most astronomical battle in Wizard History.

In terms of fighting prowess, the Grindelwald that fought Dumbldore > Voldemort IMO. But they are near equals and it could go either way.
