Impressed by Oda's foreshadowing skills yet again.

I still like the old theory that the D is actually a half moon and people have mistaken it as the letter D.

Lol wtf? I'd rather have it be Dee instead

If you really look Oda likes to feature the Moon a lot in the series. And there's a old cover art where Luffy has wings and is winking at the reader. And from Enel's cover story we know that wing people came from the Moon seemingly a very long time ago. And the idea of the D/Half Moon was to honor where they came from.

No clue. x-x. I used to think he got the "D." thing from Franklin D. Roosevelt.

But it could be the middle name of the people from the "ancient" kingdom or w.e.

Connection with D and ancient kingdom goes without a doubt.

Roger who knows the true history, talked about D with WB and about some princess (maybe princess of that kingdom). And name of that country is also important considering Gorosei ordered CP/Marines to kill Clover when he wanted to reveal it's name. D is also God's (likely tenryubito's) natural enemy.

And what exactly is "Dee", slang or what? I googled it and didn't find anything interesting or uninteresting except for surname, given name, river.

I don't get what all the fuss is about. What the hell is Dee supposed to even mean?
